Our Journey

From Hyperemesis Gravidarum to Innovation

Like many product innovations, Morning Relief arose from a personal struggle, for me, it was being diagnosed with Hyperemesis Gravidarum (the severe form of morning sickness) and the lack of over-the-counter solutions available. Years of research and collaboration with PhD Nutritionists at Massey University in New Zealand resulted in Morning Relief, a groundbreaking pregnancy supplement designed to support women enduring morning sickness and Hyperemesis Gravidarum (HG).

My own journey with HG across two pregnancies was overwhelming; hospital visits were frequent, and the emotional toll was immense. Frustrated by a lack of effective remedies, I began exploring clinical research and discovered gingerol, a compound backed by studies for its potential to ease nausea and vomiting in pregnancy. Yet, no product on the market offered the proven therapeutic dose needed to truly make a difference. At the same time, I recognised the critical role of pregnancy-specific electrolytes and Vitamin B6 to address maternal depletion.

Guided by the incredible team at Massey University, over the course of two years, we painstakingly sourced high-quality gingerol from around the globe, tested various extraction methods, and formulated the gentle, water-soluble blend that would become Morning Relief. Gingerol is the major pungent compound present in the rhizomes of ginger (Zingiber officinale Roscoe), with proven benefits for supporting nausea in pregnancy.

Seeing the impact of Morning Relief firsthand is indescribably rewarding and this privilege is not lost on me. Many women have written to share how it’s helped them feel “normal” again, describing how their daily lives became manageable. These moments remind me of why I started Daisy: because no one should have to navigate morning sickness or Hyperemesis Gravidarum without real options and support.

In line with our commitment to ongoing research, we allocate a portion of every sale of Morning Relief to fund scientific studies aimed at finding more effective ways to prevent and address nausea and vomiting in pregnancy.

My wish is that Morning Relief not only brings you relief but also creates a community where understanding and support are at the forefront.

Thank you for being part of this journey – whether by trying Morning Relief, offering guidance, or supporting someone through an HG pregnancy. I truly appreciate your support.

With love,
Emma
